Hopefully you'll find a simple solution if it's been encountered by a number of other Lightworks users.

I'm not saying this is the cause of your issue, just one of a number of possible causes.

After the export has failed, could you shut down Lightworks, zip the folder 'C:\Users\Public\Documents\Lightworks\Logs' and attach it with your response This folder contains the Lightworks logs which may show more information about possible causes.

For free users, the previous upload cap of 720p. To find out, use the export format 'Media Files.H.264/MP4' and set the export format to 720p. There is a solution to this always present issue but it's relatively expensive and therefore limited mainly to commercial audio post facilities. It should be noted that in order to output 2160p 4K, you need both Lightworks Pro and Vimeo Pro subscriptions. Again this is pretty much always the case and would cause a discrepancy between your preview and export versions but usually this discrepancy is a frame or less (although a few frames is not inconceivable or unheard of) and not of concern to most no budget indie filmmakers.
HOW TO EXPORT VIDEO FROM LIGHTWORKS DRIVERS
This is always the case! It could be that lightworks is accessing different drivers and/or hardware for it's preview than your exported file playing out of your media player, it could be that the processing of video or audio takes more or less time in lightworks depending on your editing format/s relative to your export format.
HOW TO EXPORT VIDEO FROM LIGHTWORKS DRIVER
The video part of your export file is rendered by one processing chain (say CPU/software driver and/or software driver/GPU and then the display), while the audio is rendered by another processing chain and the two different chains take different amounts of time to process.

This describes how to create and post mediainfo in three steps: Download Mediainfo from here.

A Mediainfo report (aka mediainfo) is frequently requested on this forum if issues appear to be media related. Click on the destination folder and navigate to where you want to save your exported video. You can import other files as you edit your video and exporting videos to your favorite social media platform. As I said there are a number of possible causes, another potential cause for example is hardware/driver related. Mediainfo is a commonly used tool to analyse technical data of video and audio media. Lightworks rendering speed is very impressive.

This way you have full control over the file locations and the export bitrate, you can preview the exported file prior to uploading and, avoid all issues Lightworks might have when using not rock-solid internet connections. It's certainly worth consulting with someone familiar with Lightworks, although it's fairly inconceivable that such a serious and obvious problem would not have been spotted prior to release if this were a purely Lightworks issue. I'd suggest not using the Web export formats with the Pro version, but exporting in H.264/MP4 to your local file system and uploading manually from your Youtube/Vimeo account. However, I wouldn't recommend changing the location of the system temp folder, because many application use this folder and some might dislike a changed location. If you run Lightworks 2020 or later, you should also make sure that the system folder 'Videos' is not on your SSD, because those versions move the temporary file (after export has finished) to the Videos folder to stay there. Click Export and the program will start rendering to save the project in. The default location for both is '%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp'. When you have made the necessary adjustments, simply select the folder where you want to save the exported video, write a name for the video in case you haven't done it in the project. However, if you want to have the final video file once you have completed all your editing, then you will need to export your finished project to create a media file. What you can do is changing the location of the TEMP folder, by changing the associated user environment variables 'TEMP' and 'TMP' on OS level, if you know what you're doing. Lightworks is constantly saving for you, so there is no need to actively save your project.
